View DetailsAn experimental piece narrating the experience of an individual who has been bitten by a zombie, and the side effects and thoughts they experience as they approach their imminent death. The accordion-fold book can be read both frontwards and backwards. Reading frontwards focuses on the side effects that occur throughout different time frames, and the back is written with internal thoughts and life regrets. The book is an abstract approach to illustrating the zombie virus infecting the body. The front and back covers are reminiscent of zombie flesh or infectious skin, and the inside pages slowly turn from dark to a bright and more detailed ‘infection’. The body text coincides with the approach by becoming increasingly illegible as the story progresses. The book cover uses two pieces of wood covered in acrylics and alcohol paints which have been torched and covered in a resin.
